Grade 8 formed in 1996 in the Los Angeles area. They signed with Lava Records in 2002, and released their self-titled debut album grade 8 on
February 11, 2003. The band also appeared at Ozzfest that same year.
On August 13, 2003, it was reported that after they fired a part of the band and subsequently had been dropped off the remainder of the

from Lava, because the bassist (Tim Tooker, their father) and drummer (Michael Blankenship), were fired from the group by Dustin Tooker. After
that, nothing much was heard from them until mid-2004, when they moved to Las Vegas and joined up with former Pinata bassist Stitch,
drummer Wade Hagblom, and former American Head Charge sampler Aaron Zilch.
On August 10, 2004, the band released their second album Resurrection via "Sound Barrier Records". Shortly after, they parted ways with
Hagblom and Zilch, and replaced Hagblom with drummer Josh Garcia. « hide |
