Dreadnot was an American Metal band from Silver Spring, Maryland. They initially formed in 1987 as ThrashFlud and released one demo before changing their name to Dreadnot in 1988. The band released a number of additional demos under this name until their disbanding in 1992. The band released a number of additional demos under this name until their disbanding in 1992. Initially, they had a rather conventional approach to Thrash Metal, but each successive recording showed more and more of a tendency towards the Voivod or perhaps Watchtower style of proggressive/technical metal. By their 1991 demo Cyphothiensis, the band managed to channel these influences into their own unique sound. Drummer Jamie Guggino also played for a similarly technical/progressive band Transilience. « hide |
