Downlouders is an italian musical collective, founded in 2008 as a research laboratory based on improvisation.
The project brings together musicians from different backgrounds and history, under the common sign of improvisation and psychedelia.
The albums are composed and recorded in different places, ranging within a certain genre of music, with clear 'rules' choosen before the composition phase.
The sessions are impromptu recordings, played live and improvised from scratch, with a different underlying theme chosen each time.

Live performances (or ‘instant concerts’) aim to recreate the spirit of the sessions, blending pure improvisation to some 'standard' on which we can play in different ways, with the purpose to include the audience into a stream of consciousness that create a unique and unrepeatable event.
