Crimson Coven are a Spanish epic doom and heavy metal band formed in 2023. The project began as a collaboration between a guitarist and vocalist before expanding into a five-piece with a second guitarist, bassist and drummer. The project began as a collaboration between a guitarist and vocalist before expanding into a five-piece with a second guitarist, bassist and drummer. Its members deliberately keep their identities private and use initials in their credits, placing the emphasis on the music. The band describe their approach as “spell-forged heavy metal.”
Their first release, the four-track demo 0 - The Genesis, appeared on January 29, 2025. Originally available digitally and as a limited, hand-numbered CD, it introduced their combination of epic doom, traditional heavy metal and harmonised guitar work. Shadow Kingdom Records subsequently issued the recording on vinyl in August 2025, with an edition limited to 300 copies.
Crimson Coven released their debut full-length, I - The Forge, through Cruz del Sur Music on October 9, 2026. The nine-track album includes Sacrament of Shame, Lockheed Electra, Children of the Same Sun and the closing Unleash the Kraken. Its artwork, created by Misanthropic Art, represents the corruption of worldly power, connecting with lyrics that revisit myths, legends and historical narratives through questions of social justice.
Crimson Coven favour substantial riffs, measured tempos, twin-guitar melodies and prominent melodic vocals. Their songs combine doom metal’s sombre atmosphere with the martial rhythms and anthemic character of epic heavy metal. Extended arrangements give the melodies room to develop, while the vocal delivery reinforces the music’s dramatic, heroic quality. « hide |
