BS 2000 was a side project of Beastie Boys member Adam "Adrock" Horovitz and former Suicidal Tendencies drummer and touring member
Amery "AWOL" Smith formed in 1995. Known for their "beat exchange" between the east and west coast United States music scenes, their
music relied heavily on sampling as well as keyboards, drums, and vocal distortion. They released their self-titled debut in 1997 and later their
sophomore album entitled "Simply Mortified" in 2000 (both released on the Beastie Boys' Grand Royal label). The duo continued to play until
their disbandment in 2001.
