Ayano Tsuji

Ayano Tsuji ,born in 1978, is a singer-songwriter who does her creative activity mainly in her hometown Kyoto in Japan. Her trademarks are the ukulele and her black flamed glasses. Her first album “Uraraka” was released in 1988, and her sixth single “Kazeninaru” was used as theme song of Studio Ghibli’s movie “The Cat Returns” in 2002, which made her famous and it ranked 13th place in the chart which was the highest rank she had marked at that time. Her 26 songs are tied up with many kinds of works such as movies, TV commercial or TV programs. She wanted to play the guitar but her hands were not big enough to play, so she chose the ukulele instead. She was most influenced by Japanese rock bands “SPITZ” and “Yoshida Takurou”.
