https://asphagor.bandcamp.com/ Succeeding the albums HAVOC (2010) and ANTI (2013) one of the strongest Black Metal outputs from Austria clears the path to their new album THE CLEANSING.In March 2007 ASPHAGOR has been founded by forming members Axis, Atlas, Sargoth, Aeshma and Das Nichts. After a complete year’s composing work the demo “Tyrolean Hell” was released and in 2008, the songs were performed live for the first time. After receiving very decent appreciation by the audience as well as the event’s manager the band gained a support slot for a show of Hellsaw in St. Johann in Tyrol.Following up a considerable amount of shows, Asphagor recorded its debut album “Havoc” in 2010 and released it the very same year by themselves. Shortly before the album was finished, Das Nichts decided to part ways with the band and Morgoth stepped in as the band’s new vocalist subsequent to the album release. Following this structural change, both stage performance and compositional elements have gained in individuality considerably.Followed by a multitude of shows in Germany and Italy with well-known band such as Destruction, God Detroned, Belphegor and Endstille, as well as performing on Metalfest Open Air, Helion Festival, Dark Easter Metal Meeting with Enslaved and Dark Fortress the band got into contact with Patrick W. Engel (templeofdisharmony.de), with whom the band made plans for the sequel album. The collaboration’s first fruition was the video track for the single “Havoc”, which was produced by Engel. Due to respectable repercussions resulting from this track the band decided to also produce the following album “ANTI” in the same constellation. In August 2012 the album was recorded within 5 days and completely finished two weeks later. Shortly before the release in April 2013 Aeshma decided to leave the band and followed by instrumental changes. As consequence, Hybreos, from the band Azum, entered the band covering duties on the lead guitar. Through the line-up change and the release of the new album further milestones towards more sovereignty composition-wise have been set. Asphagor was invited to present their new album for the first time at the Dark Easter Metal Meeting 2013 in Munich. The critically acclaimed ANTI needed a strong successor, thus ASPHAGOR incinerated their flame of ambition of creating a unique and logic evolution of the band. Once the compository process was completed in 2016, the band again teamed up with Patrick W. Engel to realize their clear vision of what’s to become the next milestone in the band’s history. Incited with anticipation, ASPHAGOR waits solemnly to release THE CLEANSING onto the world very soon.Band Members:Morgoth - VocalsM.Zanesco - BassHybreos - GuitarM.E.
