As one of Austria's early black metal acts Amestigon, who formed in 1993, went through countless line-up changes before it could release its first LP over 15 years later in 2010. During this period of apparent dormancy they did manage to release demos and limited runs of Höllentanz (1998) and Remembering Ancient Origins (2000); their two major EP releases. As of 2010, Tharen is the only founding member remaining, with Lans, Silenius and Herr Wolf all arriving to the scene during 1998's quarrels. They also maintain a good relationship with fellow black metalers, Abigor, and are stable with Napalm Records.
