Melechesh was founded in 1993 in Jerusalem, Israel by the force of Ashmedi, then a solo project.Guitarist Moloch and drummer Lord Curse were added a year later, and the band was set to produceBlack Metal with Middle Eastern influence, specifically revolving around Mesopotamian, Sumerian, and occult themes. The band has brought forth the term "Mesopotamian Metal" to describe it's sound, but other cases (Black Metal and Blackened Thrash) are also used. After two line-up changes (two drummers), the band has certaintly obtained their goal, and a ominous force to be reckoned with.
