Evoken is an American funeral doom metal band. Their brand of music combines heaviness and aggression with a pure atmosphere of despair and darkness. They are one of the earliest death/doom bands that remain active to this day, along with Novembers Doom and Rigor Sardonicous. Their album "Antithesis of Light" is consider a classic in the funeral doom genre by fans and critics alike, with it, at one point, being one of the highest rated albums on Sputnikmusic, and the 10th highest-rated album for 2005.
