In 1999, Mike Ness released a pair of solo albums that strongly reflected his influence of country, rockabilly and folk. Social D has showed a great deal of these genres, specifically on their 1992 album 'Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell', but Ness' solo albums would more and offer some of his best song writing and overall best and deepest compositions he has written. The first album, 'Cheating at Solitaire' was released in April of '99 and consisted mainly of Ness' own work, with only a few covers. The second album, 'Under The Influences' was a cover album released in November of the same year.
Childhood friend, long time bandmate, and guitarist Dennis Danell died on February 29, 2000 at 38 years of age due to an aneurysm, leaving Ness as the sole original member of the band.
Today, Ness is still in Social D and the band are currently working on a new album. « hide |
