Starting off in 1997 as a band experimenting with the Emo genre by significantly adding an element of chaos, Orchid is one of the bands that
significantlyaltered the Emo genre enough to create the schizophrenic bastard child genre Screamo. Gaining notoriety with a slew of splits with other
undergroundbands of the time, Orchid released 1 full length LP and a 10" that peaked at that sound they had on the splits. In 2002 the band released
Gatefold theirlast effort and most progressive sound steering away from the Chaos is Me sound and developing much more; later that year Orchid called
it quits.
