Shaped Like a Gun

Their description at first hand would smoothly fall into Kurt Cobain leads the Los Angeles Philharmonic, but there is much more of a diversity to this stringed acoustic group. Raymond Lew, the brainchild of SLAG, played a few gigs in his off/on solo carrer (2000/2004), and actually had a small but devoted fanbase, but eventually merged with celloist/vocalist Kestrin Pantera and violinist Andrea Baker, and thus created the backbone of Shaped Like a Gun. Their dissonant, cathartic sound hinted themes of fame, old age, imperialism, and suicide. In March 2005, bassist Javier Valdez and drummer Caitlin Moss joined the band, adding a more rock-oriented sound, but still boasting the anomalous songwriting genius of Raymond Lew. In September, SLAG released their EP, which may have been more refined, but didn't dilute the dissentire of the songs. In March 2006, major line-up changes took place, and since then, gig play has discontinued, and work with the band has been on and off.
