Hurts are an English synthpop duo formed in 2009, consisting of singer Theo Hutchcraft and synthesist and guitarist Adam Anderson. Theirdebut album Happiness, which was released in September 2010, has reached the top five in eight European countries, and has sold 750,000copies worldwide. They are frequently compared to 1980s English pop groups Pet Shop Boys and Tears for Fears.
