Versus The Ocean is a 5-piece band out of the great state of Michigan. With members coming from all over the state, each bringing their own unique musical expertise, Versus The Ocean have managed to create a sound that walks the line between many genres.
Everyone decides to play music for different reasons, but we do this for YOU. Yes, you! Everyone goes through some sort of rough period or struggle in their lifetime. To be completely honest, if you become a friend and a fan of our music, we consider you FAMILY... :-)
We hope that you will take the time to not just listen to the music, but read the lyrics, and feel every note. Music isn't about how "br00t4l" you can be, how "sweet" you look, or how much money you have. It's not about what you wear, what your friends think, or how many plays on Myspace you have. It's about creating art, expressing emotion, and sharing it with whoever is willing to listen. Music isn't defined in genres, and we like to keep it that way. We're not jerks, and believe that other bands with "rockstar" attitudes are idiots. That's not what we're about, and never will be what we're about. :-)
That being said, come hang out with us at a show! We want to see all your pretty faces! We absolutely love meeting new people, sweaty hugs, and perhaps the occasional game of Smash Bros.
