Dazzling Killmen

Dazzling Killmen were one of the most accomplished1990s math rock bands, combining a punk-inspirednoisy ruckus withjazzySun Ra-type intelligence andcomplex arrangements. The group was composed ofmidwestern jazz students — drummerBlakeFleming, guitarist Tim Garrigan, bassist Darin Gray — and vocalistNick Sakes. The St. Louis-based group caughttheattention ofSkin Graft Records, released two full-length albums, as well as several 7” singles beforebreaking up.Today, its members are better known for their laterprojects — like Fleming’s Laddio Bolocko, The Mars Voltaand Electric TurnToMe, Colossamite and Sicbay, and acollaboration between Gray and Jim O’Rourke, Brise-Glace.
