Star Fucking Hipsters

Star Fucking Hipsters is a punk rock band that was started by Leftöver Crack's vocalist Stza and drummer Brandon (former X-Possibles) as a side project. Unfortunately, Brandon died before the band was fully formed. However, Stza continued and the band played their first shows in the Summer of 2005. The line-up originally included vocalist Kisston from "Help Me Help Me I Can't Breathe", guitarist Jamie Toulan from Old Skull, and drummer GiGi from "Another Dying Democracy". The band started playing shows in the New York City area early in August 2005. This line-up lasted for two performances before they disbanded. The following year, primarily to put a few songs together for the Leftöver Crack/Citizen Fish split release "Deadline", Stza met up with Leftöver Crack and The Slackers drummer Ara Babajian & Degenerics/Ensign guitar prodigy Frank Piegaro. Three of the seven songs produced from this session ended up on the Leftöver Crack/Citizen Fish split, leaving the remaining ones as the basis for the first Star Fucking Hipsters record- "Until We're Dead.". Stza then enlisted a whole new group of musicians, again calling themselves Star Fucking Hipsters. The band now consists of Stza, Frank Piegaro (Degenerics), Nico de Gaillo (Casa De Chihuahua),Ara Slack and Yula Beeri. Their debut album was released by Fat Wreck Chords on September 30, 2008, entitled "Until We're Dead", though it was originally to be titled "Allergic To People". On December 23, 2008, the band released a music video for "Two Cups of Tea". The band's second album, "Never Rest In Peace", was released on October 20, 2009 by Alternative Tentacles. A music video for the song "3000 Miles Away" was recorded in November 2009 and was premiered by Punknews.org in January 2010. The video also features actor Ethan Suplee of "Mallrats", "American History X" and "My Name Is Earl" fame. The band also planned to release new material on Fat Wreck Chords by the end of 2009. It is now scheduled for a 2011 release and may include a collaboration with influential N.Y.C. Ska band The Slackers. The new record is tentatively titled "Ska Fucking Hipsters". « hide
