E-603

E-603 is an enigma. Known to friends and family members as Ethan, he spent his formative years in the inclement snow drifts and rampant humidity of the far north of the US. E-603 is an enigma. Known to friends and family members as Ethan, he spent his formative years in the inclement snow drifts and rampant humidity of the far north of the US. More specifically, New Hampshire (or as it’s colloquially known, the 603). Originally trained in classical music theory and composition, he began making electronic music in 2005 when the spectre of the Old Man in the Mountain visited him in a dream and beckoned him onto a galley (the oars of which were manned by the long-exiled Titans of Greek mythology). The Old Man in the Mountain showed E-603 the potential future should nothing change in the world. In the vision, the world was in ruin, cities were abandoned and had long since become overrun by vegetation and feral dogs, and the human race had been reduced to nomadic tribes. “Is there another future?” Ethan asked. “Yes,” The Old Man in the Mountain replied, “Have you seen Star Wars? It could be that cool. But you must carry on my legacy. You must teach people to live free or die.” When he woke, Ethan wasn’t sure exactly how he would do that, but decided that if people really wanted to be free, then they should dance. In that moment, E-603 was born. « hide
