Under the auspices of the production genius Nigel Godrich (Radiohead, Beck, etc.), Travis is an alternative indie-pop band much in the same vein as Coldplay and Keane (though the band actually preceeded both). Frontman Fran Healy's flawless post-Morissey vocal takes are supplimented by acoustic guitar, jangly orange amplifiers, crisp minimalist drumming, and layers of organic and synthetic blending. Though the song structures are not strikingly original, the band captivates listeners with subtle depth, and the semi-ironic delivery of their otherwise traditional sounding melodies. Hit songs include: 'Why Does it Always Rain On Me?' and 'Sing'.
