Throughout a turbulent career marked by frequent line-up changes, substance struggles, and multiple breakups and reformations, Ginger has remained the band's primary songwriter and constant driving force.
The band achieved early critical and commercial success in the 1990s with underground hits and chart-topping releases, most notably their debut full-length Earth vs the Wildhearts (1993) and the critically acclaimed sophomore album P.H.U.Q. (1995). Despite continuous inner turmoil, side projects, and hiatuses through the 2000s and 2010s, the band persistently returned with new material, releasing later studio albums such as Renaissance Men (2019) and 21st Century Love Songs (2021). Following another split in 2022, Ginger assembled a fresh lineup for a world tour and the 2025 release Satanic Rites of the Wildhearts, continuing to write music for the band following a cancer diagnosis in 2026. « hide |
