The Dreaming

A heart of metal, a soul of darkwave and a punk-rock attitude, The Dreaming is a mix of all these stirred with a passion that creates product that is truly"Etched in Blood". It is more than an album title. It is a mantra. A commitment. A covenant with each other and their fans. A heart of metal, a soul of darkwave and a punk-rock attitude, The Dreaming is a mix of all these stirred with a passion that creates product that is truly"Etched in Blood". It is more than an album title. It is a mantra. A commitment. A covenant with each other and their fans. It describes everything thatwent into finding the perfect line-up to produce the best sound of its kind. The result would be the album they believed in to the point of even releasing iton their own terms. This band emerged from L.A. with an underground following that had them debuting at Number One on Downloadpunk.com where they remained for twomonths. They've consistently invaded Myspace's "Top 10 unsigned Metal/Punk/New Wave" charts. They were a staple at such legends as The Whisky aGo-Go and The Roxy. In 2007 they rocked the Hot Topic stage at Warped Tour. After holding up the launch of the album due to the courtship of various indie labels, The Dreaming made a commitment to stay true to themselves andtheir music and went completely DIY, creating Dream Corpse Records. Produced by Kent Hertz (Godsmack, The Pink Spiders), "Etched in Blood" is amasterpiece of these five musicians' talents. Christopher Hall, former frontman of platinum-selling artist Stabbing Westward, brings vocals that rangefrom passionate whispers to heart-wrenching explosions as the guitars of Jinxx and Carlton Bost shred catchy blends of ferocity and merciless passionwhich are tied together with the bass of Brent Ashley and drums of Johnny Haro culminating with epic and melodic edge, pummeling the listener withunbridled aggression. When these tracks are performed live, the five completely separate and unique energies multiply a hundred-fold to give each song a life all its own and hasthe crowd moving non-stop from beginning to end. Until the album's release this past January, people east of the Rockies had not experienced thedynamic that is The Dreaming. However, again the band met the challenge of going it alone to get the record on tour. Teaming up with theMassachusetts promoter, Locobazooka, they set out on a grueling three-month trek to share the thing that means the most to them in places as obscureas Maplewood, MN and Cookesville, TN to rock & roll meccas like Asbury Park, NJ and Chicago, IL. At every stop they left new fans in their wake. Back home in L.A., The Dreaming signed with DEEP Distribution/BCD Music Group to get Etched in Blood into major retailers, which included a strongpush from Hot Topic. The same day the disc hit stores, Sticks & Stones was selected at "Spotlight Song of The Week on Reverbnation where the bandflew to #180 out of over twenty-thousand bands in the "rock" genre in a little over two months. Moving on the tenacity and commitment of fans forpromotion and their collective drive to succeed, The Dreaming stands at the threshold of a new age of the music industry unwilling to compromise not onlyworking outside the box but leaving the box in the nearest dumpster. At every step along the way, The Dreaming adds another page to the legend that is"Etched in Blood".' « hide
