You may have heard it on the radio, saw it's 'Carry On' movie mocking video on the tv, you may have even being one of the people who went and bought it and got it Top 5 in the UK Singles chart. The song is 'Monster' by Welsh teenagers The Automatic. It's a song that started out life on a small MySpace profile little over 12 months ago and has now become a terrace chant at England matches and a festival sing-along favourite. But The Automatic don't stop there, behide 'Monster' lays 'Not Accepted Anywhere', an album that mashes together the Pop undertones of Kaiser Cheifs and Franz Ferdinand, the energy of late 90's-era Refused and the dancefloor friendliness of The Rapture and LCD Soundsystem. Even though that may sound a little unimaginable and complexing, The Automatic still manage to pull it all off and are left with an refreshing, urgent and original sound. In 2008, synth player & backing vocalist Alex Pennie left the band to be replaced by Paul Mullen. In the same year, The Automatic released their 2nd album 'This Is a Fix' to mixed reviews and underwhelming sales. The band's 3rd LP 'Tear the Signs Down' was then released in March of 2010 under their own label Armored Records. « hide
