Stereophonics

The Stereophonics are a Welsh three piece combo based around the guitar and vocal work of singer/songwriter Kelly Jones. They've been around since 1996 when their debut 'Word Gets Around' was released with the single 'Local Boy In The Photograph' peaking at no. 51 in the UK charts. They've been around since 1996 when their debut 'Word Gets Around' was released with the single 'Local Boy In The Photograph' peaking at no. 51 in the UK charts. Since then, their popularity has grown and grown with their brand of acoustic ballads and head banging heavy rock entering higher in the charts with each album. However, at present in Britain, they remain very much a high B-List band, even though they have the vocal charisma of Oasis, some heavy Led Zeppelin style riffs and some real classic songs. Including the forlorn and sinister 'Mr. Writer', the sweet and bouncy 'Have A Nice Day' and the rip roaring 'Vegas Two Times' The Stereophonics are very much on the verge of an explosion, and it seems that with each new album they come closer to breaking into the league of rock they have been slowly, but steadily climbing towards for the best part of ten years. « hide
