Stanley Clarke is anj innovative and influential American upright and electric bassist. Famed for his impressive and hugely
influential'percussive slap' technique, Clarke was the first bassist to headline and sell out worldwide tours. Clarke has released a
number of solo albums,most notably School Days, with its famous title track, and album that is often named, alongside other
classic such as Jaco Pastorius'eponymous debut, as one of the greatest bass albums inn the history of Jazz. He has also written
miuch music for film and television since the80s. He has scored for films and shows as diverse as ghetto life tale, Pee-Wee's
playhouse, and children's show Boyz in the Hood.
