This Death Metal band was formed by guitarist/vocalist, Andrew Phillips in 1990 in the town of Perry Hall, MD. The creation of Sabaothic Cherubim was influenced by bands like Napalm Death, Death, [/L]Mortification[/L], Living Sacrifice, Pestilence etc.; their first release was a self-titled EP under the band name Cherubim. Shortly after their debut release, on indie label AP Records, guitarist Shane Ball would come on board, and in 1991 they changed their name to Sabaothic Cherubim. That same year they released their first LP titled Decomposed Remains, which consisted of eight songs and an intro. They released a total of seven albums between 1990 and 1994, consisting of five EPs (Cherubim, Covered In Blood, Beltane Ritual, Decapitation and Decomposed Remains-Remix); and two LPs (Decomposed Remains and The Gate Keeper). The band split up in late 1994 after Andrew Phillips left the band due to personal reasons. In 2005, after being away from the Death Metal scene for several years, Andrew decided to reform Sabaothic Cherubim; he was joined by Shane shortly after. They also added Chris Donlon on drums, and began work on the 2006 EP, Where The Blood Flows. In 2007 they entered the studio once again to work on their first LP since their reforming; the album was title Beyond The Baphomet, and was released on July, 14th 2007. The album consisted of ten songs, and one intro; of those ten songs was the band's "trademark" song Decomposed Remains. A video was shot for Decomposed Remains, and it was picked up by MTV's Headbangers Ball (online). In 2008, Shane made the decision to leave Sabaothic Cherubim. After Shane's departure from the band, Andrew would meet Death Metal guitarist, Raymond Kratochvil. Shortly after Ramond's arrival, the band would welcome bassist Alex Paul to its' lineup. In 2008, they would release a video for The Passing, the fourth song off the Beyond The Baphomet album. On July 1st 2009, they would release a video for the song Agonizing Screams Of The Undead, the seventh song off Beyond The Baphomet; this would be the last video released from Beyond The Baphomet. The band would then start writing material for their 2010 album, Liberation Of The Tsalmaveth Dwellers; this album is to contain 13 songs, and have a runtime of over one hour. This is said to be their heaviest album to date, and one of Death Metal's heaviest albums ever released.
