Prayer for Cleansing was a metalcore band from Charlotte, North Carolina (later Raleigh, North Carolina). Formed in 1996, the band initially split up in 2000 with several members going on to form Between the Buried and Me. Since then, they have reunited several times for reunion shows in 2001, 2004, 2022 and 2023. The band is highly regarded as influential in the metalcore/deathcore genres. Some of their reunion shows have seen them playing with the reunion of fellow North Carolinian contemporaries Undying.
