In such a short period of time they have earned a reputation as one of the most extreme, hardworking and brutally energenic new bands in Australia. In approximately 3 years since they formed they have completed several national tours, an EP and the well received and brutally respected "Bite Your Head Off" LP released in 2012. They have recently signed to well known metal label Candlelight records. King Parrot explode raw energy and intensity with their live shows and have been known to get in a few faces in the ground, with vocalist Youngy literally running off stage to go run around the audience and scream in peoples faces and possibly throw urns full of liquid over audience members like at Sydney Bastardfest 2012. Their brutal metal assault melts elements of grind, punk, thrash and hardcore. King Parrots first single ' shit on the liver ', from their latest album had a video released in early 2013 and has been the most plugged, liked, shared and commented on Australian Metal video this year and has been hailed as one of the best Australian metal videos of all time. More Australian metal bands, webzines and metal websites have shared, commented or plugged that clip than you can shake a stick at, with even Cattle Decapitation posting the video on their facebook page who are touring with King Parrot in June.King Parrot have just completed a tour of Indonesia including the Obscene Extreme festival, which they will also be attending in Australia and the Czech Republic. They completed an extensive national tour in October and November of 2012 including a few Bastardfest shows and were part of the Devil’s Kitchen Festival in January. King Parrot has played alongside bands such as Macabre, Blood Duster, Rotten Sound, Psycroptic, Eyehategod and Warbringer and are supporting Obituary in May and Cattle Decapitation / Thy Art is Murder in June. « hide |
