Gridlink was a grindcore band from Hoboken, New Jersey. Several members of the band have played in numerous other bands such as Discordance Axis, Mortalized, Noisear and many others. Formed in 2004, the band first split in 2014 after the release of their third album Longhena when guitarist Takafumi Matsubara suffered a brain infection that left one of his hands paralyzed. After initially being told he would never be able to play again, Matsubara would make a miraculous recovery years later, which led to the band resuming activities in 2022. However, this would be short lived, as Gridlink would split up once again after playing their final show on October 28th, 2023, with vocalist Jon Chang soon stating that he was finished with music.
