Green on Red started out as a psychedelic-influenced rock band from Tuscon, AZ, led by Dan Stuart (guitar/vocals) and Chris Cacavas (organ). After relocating to Los Angeles the band became involved with the local cowpunk scene and the 'Paisley Underground'. For their 1985 album "Gas Food Lodging" Chuck Prophet joined the band on guitar. Starting with their 1989 album "Here Come the Snakes" Green on Red was just Stuart, Prophet and a revolving cast of session players. Since releasing their last album in 1992 the band's reformed to play several live shows.
