The progressive Rock / Metal band DREAMSCAPE were founded back in 1986 by guitarist Wolfgang Kerinnis the first demo tapes got great reviews all through the press and the band established a remarkable live-presence also. After three demos the band thought the time was right to record their first CD album. After three demos the band thought the time was right to record their first CD album. With the album 'Trance like State' the guys managed to achieve a record deal.DREAMSCAPE started playing shows with among others: VANDENPLAS, KINGS X, STRATOVARIUS, CHROMING ROSE, ELEGY, AVALON, IVANHO but also had to replace singer Tobi from the Line-Up. With a new singer the 2nd album 'Very' was recorded and was supposed to lead the band many steps forward. The beginning was very promising: A good Japanese deal was secured and in some European countries the band got rave reviews (Belgium, Sweden, Finland, Italy..).Logo DreamscapeBut soon problems with the record company occurred, the distribution was not adequate and the support from the label was not satisfying. So the band decided to leave their label when the recordings for the third album started. This turned out to be a quite disappointing period for the band as also the 2nd singer left the guys. Future didn't look too bright for the band but the band took their chance and should turn the wheel around.With Roland Stoll the perfect singer for DREAMSCAPE was found and he finally was able to perform the songs the way the band had in mind.. After Roland joining the line up all songs were re-arranged and new lyrics were written. The new album 'END OF SILENCE' was recorded and mixed in 2002 and in 2003 DREAMSCAPE signed with Massacre Records. The next album 'REVOICED' was released in 2005. It is a best of collection of their first two albums. But it is more than simply a collection. The songs were totally new recorded and arranged to present the older material with roland's voice. At the moment DREAMSCAPE is going to arrange and record their fifth album '5th season'. Its going to be the best DREAMSCAPE album ever! taken from www.progpower.com « hide |
