Sheavy formed in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada in 1993, and originally performed under the name GreenMachine. In1994,theband discovered there was another band in the United States with the same name, so a decision wasmade to rename the bandSheavy.Theband's repertoire originally consisted of a sampling of Kyuss covers and an assortment oforiginals that would eventually make theirwayontothe Reproduction E.P., Slaves To Fashion, and ultimately Blue Sky Mind. Athree-song 7" vinyl record was recorded in early 1995 atJollyRogerStudios in St. John's. The band regularly performed in andaround St. John's for the first few years at small clubs and venues such asTheLoft,Sam Shades; Junctions and the LSPU Hall.
