Wipers

The Wipers were a punk rock group formed in Portland, Oregon in 1977 by guitarist/vocalist Greg Sage, drummer Sam Henry and bassist Dave Koupal. While the band's lineup changed many times, Sage remained a constant member and is chiefly responsible for their distinctive sound. The Wipers have been influential to many musicians, including the Melvins, Sonic Youth, Nirvana, J Mascis and Steve Albini.
