Virgin Black are a symphonic/doom metal from Australia. After independently releasing two records, Virgin Black released 2002's "Sombre Romantic" on Massacre Records, and then later released 2003's "Elegant and Dying" on The End Records, in 2007 they released the first of their "requiem" trilogy, Requiem: Mezzo Forte, which was in association with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. Requiem: Fortissimo was released in 2008 and Requiem: Pianissimo is said to be released in 2009
