Understand

Understand were a “Post Hardcore” band from Southend (Essex, England) who had the dubious pleasure of signing to East West in the early nineties, they released an ep through east west(Equal vision) in the states which was very raw and was very different to their full length debut album, “Burning Bushes and Burning Bridges” which was released in 1995 and preceded by a vinyl only single “Around for nothing” and proper single “Southend” - East West did zero to promote the band and 2 months after the albums release wanted them to begin work on album number 2. Understand were a “Post Hardcore” band from Southend (Essex, England) who had the dubious pleasure of signing to East West in the early nineties, they released an ep through east west(Equal vision) in the states which was very raw and was very different to their full length debut album, “Burning Bushes and Burning Bridges” which was released in 1995 and preceded by a vinyl only single “Around for nothing” and proper single “Southend” - East West did zero to promote the band and 2 months after the albums release wanted them to begin work on album number 2. The band split with the label and found themselves struggling to find a decent home after that, a second album “Real Food At Last” was recorded but never released, a few tracks did make it out, noticeably a split with Jet Pak (which featured a future member of hundred reasons) and a compilation appearance. The second album is incredible but not easy to find…the band are not around anymore and thats a great shame as they were a million times better than the faceless UK bands now peddling the emo - posthardcore sound - From last.fm « hide
