The New Order

The New Order was a one-off release mostly consisting of a field recording. The name was most likely chosen to protest the pop group New Order using that name (it was originally the name of a post-Stooges group) and to cause confusion. Likewise, William Bennett added extra names to the cover. Genesis Breyer P-Orridge was certainly not involved, and was very mad about the release - making it a point to visit shops and destroy the covers. It is questionable whether Steven Stapleton was actually involved in the release either.
