The Higher was formed in 2002 by Seth Trotter (vocals), Jason Centeno (bass), Patrick Harter (drums), James Mattison (guitar), and Thomas Oakes (guitar). They quickly became one of the biggest bands in the local music scene in Las Vegas. They impressed Fiddler Records and earned themselves a record deal. Shortly thereafter, they released their five-song EP, Star Is Dead (pertaining to their previous name, September Star), and began touring with bands like Something Corporate, Rufio, Yellowcard, and Emery. After touring, they began working on their debut full length album, Histrionics, which was released in the summer of 2005. They departed from Fiddler Records after Histrionics was released and guitarist, James Mattison, also left the band. They picked up a new guitarist Robert Ragan. They are now touring with big names like Unwritten Law, Less Than Jake, and Taking Back Sunday, and just released their second full length album, "On Fire." « hide |
