A house band for Stax and Volt in the same vein as Booker T and the MGs. Their considerable early potential was cut chort when all but two of
the original lineup died in the same plane crash that killed Otis Redding, denying that lineup the chance to follow up their 1967 debut album
Soul Finger. However, the band continued with an influx of new members and are still recording and touring to this day.
