At first sight, Debo (15) and Mona (17) are two normal girls from the German landscape Allgäu, but as soon as they have a training room or a stage near them, they change over to enthusiastic musicians. With the name STERNBLUT, they mention what you can hardly say otherwise: What they are dreaming, what they like and dislike. The first STERNBLUT song brought out of Allgäu now is Komm wir malen uns das Leben (Come, let’s draw our lives), a great fresh pop song recorded with Florian Rein (Bananafishbones) in Bad Tölz, Germany. It is with him that STERNBLUT are working on a whole album in the studio currently.
“‘Komm, wir malen uns das Leben’ talks about all the things you can do with colors,” they explain. “You can paint your live multicolor. It always depends on how you look at it. If you walk through your day with a bad mood, you will only see bad things. And if there are dreams that don’t come true, you can always draw them in your imagination.”
Debo and Mona compose all songs and lyrics on their own, the one plays guitar (Debo), the other piano (Mona), and that matches perfectly. The ideas for their songs come while walking in the nature, while dreaming, or at the evening, sitting at the kitchen oven, when the little relatives are in bed and silence comes in. The one sister then plays her ideas to the other, they discuss a bit and then check it out with the band. And everything is possible: From loud rock songs over to melancholic ballads. « hide |
