Obliteration were an oldschool death metal band from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Their 1997 EP, "Dying Age" was one of the most popular metal EP's on the Texas-Oklahoma metal scene at the time. However, they changed their band name to 'Death Wish' just as their debut LP, "Severed", was released. Versions of "Severed" can be found under both names, though both albums are the same. The band name change occured because new vocalist Richard Puckett replaced the original Cammy Two Rivers, and because the band wanted to slightly mellow their sound by becoming a Christian death metal band. The band opened for Pantera in 1997 but broke up in 1999.
