Playing with the both the imagination and the listener's perception has been a style that MindFlow have incorporated into their work since their formation in 2003, an event that was quickly followed by the release of the band's first album  "Just The Two Of Us... Me and Them" (2004). This album became Heaven Cross Records’ No. 1 seller in Spain and went on to be released in more than 60 countries worldwide, The band then embarked on  its’ first world tour, Let Your MindFlow. In 2006, a new project, "Mind Over Body" was released and conceived as a "Flow of Consciousnes”, thus moving beyond the body, the physical and the real and exploring the imaginary and new ways to experience the sound. The style evoked new sensations with each track, more than a ticket for a voyage of self-discovery, it is an experiment of 80 minutes. For two consecutive months, the album was amongst the Top 5 best selling rock albums in Brazil, Germany and Spain and was considered the best progressive rock album of the year in Brazil and the U.S. It was in this project that the first traces began to appear of one the principal characters in the new web of intrigue. A sixth member of the band, an “other,” a bringer of doubts and a harbinger of mysteries. A serial killer, who, from his incarnation in the last album, will go on to coexist in a virtual world, defying the deductions of the detectives on the trail of the most heinous crimes against humanity. The new edition of the Alternate Reality Game (ARG), "Follow Your Instinct" will be released soon after the launch of Destructive Device.  However, much persistence and dedication will be required to solve the new cases in less than a year and two months. This is the time limit for the last mystery. During this period, more than three thousand detectives will be mobilized and organized into virtual communities until the final resolution of the cases. Their success however, has not come by accident, but through the creativity and experience of the group. Since 2004, MindFlow have completed two European tours, one in Asia, and another in North America. They have made appearances at many festivals such as the 2nd Duryu Rock and Sports Festival in South Korea. In Spain, the group appeared at the Prog Metal Fest, a multi-venue festival that visited four cities: Madrid, Palencia, Barcelona and Girona. Still on the European scene, MindFlow played at the Metal Heart Festival in Norway, at the Cambridge Rock Festival in England and performed at a show in Belgium, Spirit of 66. In the United States alone, they have 10 more shows under their belts, including the Monsters of Rock; the Texas Mad Festival; and the Blastzone Festival. In Brazil, the group has appeared all over the country, notching up shows at such important events as the Live'N'Louder Rock Fest 2006, at the Skol Area, Anhembi, Sao Paulo - Latin America's biggest rock festival - and have already graced the stages of some of the best Brazilian venues such as the Directv Music Hall (now the Citibank Music Hall), the Via Funchal and the Victoria Hall. Destructive Device, the third album from the Brazilian band MINDFLOW, is more than just an album packed with socially critical ideology. It is a project boiling over with aggressive lyrics and themes. The device is one of the clues, the piece of a puzzle that lead to the discovery of an intricately woven web of intrigue. While preserving the band's musical style and direction, the tracks take on a more classic form without losing the band’s signature style, mixing young, modern and innovative lyrics with the musical power and excellence of its enigmatic members. Without limits or rules, the style is driven by the latent energy of the group and its’ public, that may, track by track, reveal the secrets of its disturbing design or transport the listener to places where only adrenalin rules human actions. Destructive Device was produced by Ben Grosse (Marilyn Mason, Slipknot, Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, Sevendust) and was recorded and mixed both in Brazil and Los Angeles. As a producer that has pushed the boundaries with countless other bands, Grosse recorded parts of the album (specifically the bass, drums and keyboards) at "Mosh Studios" in Sao Paulo (one of the best in Brazil), and moved the project to "The Mix Room" in Los Angeles where the vocals, guitar and mixing were completed. Both highly successful sessions were overseen every step of the way by the presence and sensitivity of Grosse. The album is set for release in Brazil and Europe on May 31st with a U.S. release date later in 2008. Enough has been said to show that MindFlow has established contact with the world. Now it seems that the time has come for mankind to discover the enigmas, the aftermath and what really became of the "Destructive Device". « hide
