Messenger was a musical troupe from London formed in the spring of 2012 by Khaled Lowe and Barnaby Maddick. They describe their debut Illusory Blues, released March 2014 as "a cosmic ode to the forces of nature and the inevitable cycle of life." Their music dwells equally in the earthly sounds of folk music and spacey sounds of progressive psychedelia, softly spoken guitar lines addled with toots of flute and eerie swoops of strings, create "an atmosphere of illusion and fantasy."
