2009 saw 17 Samurai, kidk’s remix album released, which included mixes from Jehst, Vadim, Natural Self, Eliphino, Illum
Sphere, Mr Thing and J Star. This was swiftly followed by album #3 ‘Basho Basho’, an entirely instrumental work, described by
Wire Magazine as ‘a record of borderline psychopathic focus’, and led Knowledge Mag to compare the beanie-hatted
beatmaker to Flying Lotus.
Following on from his stint at Red Bull’s Music Academy in 2010, kidkanevil has numerous projects lined up, including a 3rd
album from the critically acclaimed Stateless (kidk has been a member of the band since 2006) on Ninja Tune late this year.
He recently released a collaboration with Daisuke Tanabe – the inimitable Kidsuke on Project Mooncircle, and has also
contributed to UK legends Foreign Beggars’ new album. Look out for more remixes and his neck-snapping DJ sets at a venue
near you soon.
