Katabasis is an atmospheric metal band formed by David Butler and Shane Wall. Combining elements from many disparateformsof metal and music in general, the band seeks to establish an emotional grounding rather than a sonic one; any given songmaygive reign to delicacy, primal extremity, or a variety of textures between. Less concerned with pushing boundaries than itiswith ignoring them, Katabasis focuses on the purity and honesty of genuine musical expression.

Playing a total of 32 shows across the nation, making sure to visit every state and territory,Katabasisannounced themselves to the country with their high-energy and mesmerising live performances.
Katabasis is currently writing material for their sophomore album, which is planned for an early 2013 release. They willbecompleting an east coast tour throughout July 2012, which shall be announced soon. « hide |
