A study of contrasts and opposites, Hemina's progressive metal is immediate and dynamic, yet also mysteriously dark, enveloping and atmospheric: the energetic percussion and guitar assault is contrasted with the sad mid-range wail of lead vocalist Douglas Skene and other backing vocalists including female bassist Jessica Martin. The land down under is not exactly known for its metal scene, but the highly original approach of Hemina will convince any listener that not everything has been heard from everywhere yet.
