Fenix TX (stylized Fenix*TX) formed in 1996 under the name Riverfenix by Will Salazar (guitar, vocals), Damon DeLaPaz (guitar, vocals), Adam Lewis (bass), and Donnie Reyes (drums). The band released their self-titled debut album in 1997 when the band was known as still known as Riverfenix. In 1998, the name "Riverfenix" has been renamed to "Fenix TX", due to a name parody of My Own Private Idaho star River Phoenix (who died in 1993). Fenix*- TX then recorded and released two albums "Fenix*TX" in 1999 and "Lechuza" in 2001. The albums collectively sold over 600,000 units and Fenix*TX soon broke ...read more

After that, some members went to pursue a career with new projects Denver Harbor and Sing the Body Electric.Fenix*TX reunited on August 14, 2004 and played two reunion shows with their last active line-up (consisting of Will Salazar, Chris Lewis, Adam Lewis and Damon DeLaPaz) . Though, Fenix*TX decided to just stay reunited and continued touring as they miss the feeling of everything the band did in the past. The band released a live album Purple Reign in Blood in early November 2005. There is no word yet if or when the band will record their third album anytime in 2006 or later, which will mark their first studio release since "Lechuza". « hide |
