It was after meeting three visiting French students in 1974, who happened to be practising Buddhists, that Radigue decided to
investigate Buddhismherself. She visited a centre for Tibetan Buddhist studies upon her return to Paris in 1975 and spent the
next few years studying Buddhism. Radigueeventually returned to composition and completed the Adnos trilogy. A series of
works were written in the 80s basedon the life and teachings ofthe Tibetan saint Milarepa. Kyema, the first of the three works
that comprise Trilogie de la Mort was inspired by the Tibetan Book of the Dead.Kailasha, which was started shortly after the
completion of Kyema, is her imaginary journey to Mount Kailash. Koumé,which was composed afterthe departure of Radigue's
Tibetan master, completes the trilogy. Radigue has more recently been invited to join the international laptop group,
TheLappetites. « hide
