El Grupo Nuevo de Omar Rodriguez Lopez, as its name implies, is an entirely new band organized by The Mars Voltaguitarist.The band is a collaboration between members of Hella and several others from The Mars Volta. The line-upconsists of OmarRodríguez-López on guitar, Zach Hill on drums, Jonathan Hischke on synth bass, and Juan Alderete onbass guitar. Additionally,Cryptomnesia features the vocals of guest frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala on eight of the album’seleven tracks.
