Eseohe Arhebame was born in the sub-Saharan culture capital Nigeria. At seven, her family moved to Detroit. There, she became a prominent figure in the city's slam poetry scene. Her stage name, Edoheart, pays homage to the Edo people. Her music embraces the circular music theory oft-applied to African music and relies on drums and creative sampling.
