Formed in 2017 by three best friends, vocalist Adam Lara, guitarist Tyler King, and drummer John Dinwiddie, blackened screamogaze outfit Daedalus sought to make music on their own terms. No misguided hopes of becoming the next big thing in heavy music, just the desire to create art they can be proud of with the people they consider family. In 2019 came the addition of bassist Aaron Bilbrey (also of bands Hawkins A/V Club and Finda Brita), who has since become an immediate member of their family. Taking influence from the soundscapes of Deafheaven, the aggression of Converge, the melody of Slowdive, and the emotive force of Daitro, the four-piece middle Tennessee act strive to make music with the purpose of connecting with their listeners on a personal level.
