Astharoth are a Polish technical thrash metal band formed in Bielsko-Biała in 1988. They made quite a splash in their local scene between their early demos, winning band contests to play at Metal Battle and Metalmania festivals in 1989, as well as touring throughout Poland and opening for Bulldozer. While working on material for their debut album, they were approached by Italy's Metalmaster Records who would promote them in the West. In 1990 Astharoth relocated to San Francisco, replacing some band members with local thrashers from bay area band Epitaph. Following the release of Gloomy Experiments later that year, they would record another four demos before splitting up in 1994. In 2020 the band resumed activity, releasing new material.
